Fantasy Island Theme Park

“The visitor economy in Lincolnshire is vitally important and Fantasy Island has been, and will continue to be, a really important part of the mix that makes our Lincolnshire East Coast one of the top resorts in the country.

  • Fantasy Island is not just about the rides but it is also the home to Europe’s largest seven-day market in addition to restaurants, cafes and bars.

Mellors Group invested £3.5 Million Pound to revitalise the park and its attractions in 2017 and have continued to build and invest year on year thereafter. This continued confidence in the attraction and the positive economic impact it has on the local area economy are an integral part in supporting the success of the wider visitor economy of Lincolnshire.”

Nottingham City Transformations

“Nottingham City Council has been working with Mellors Group Events for many years, in a business relationship that spans their proud showmen’s history of being one of the region’s main fairground ride and attraction operators to providing high quality attractions around the globe. Despite global success, they continue to be based in the city.

  • Our Winter Wonderland Christmas event offer is now widely regarded as being one of the best in the UK.  Throughout the 5-years of their current contract term they have constantly sought to innovate, developing new event content from double-deck, ski lodge inspired bars to ice-based attractions, rejuvenating a Christmas market format, that we know other cities aspire to replicate.”

Patrick Loy – Head of Nottingham Events, Nottingham City Council

Torquay Observation Wheel

“I would like to say how impressed the residents of Torbay were with the Observation Wheel recently erected on Torquay Sea Front. There was a most positive reaction from the public and we have received many letters of congratulations regarding this attraction, and in the short time it was here it became a landmark for all.

  • Officers have also informed me that both the construction and dismantling of the wheel were carried out in a very professional manner, this work in itself becoming an attraction, with a lot of sightseers watching it being carried out.

The final firework display that you kindly organised was also very well received by the public and it made a fitting finale to your time at Torbay.”

Gordon Oliver – Elected Mayor and Leader of Torbay

Fantasy Island Theme Park

“The Mellors Group Ltd, since coming to Lincolnshire, to be more precise to Fantasy Island,  Ingoldmells, Skegness, Lincolnshire, commenced operations at a very high standard and have continued to develop with their forward thinking and professional approach …

  • … not only a wonderous Landmark that can be seen for miles around but a quality creation for the entire family to experience and enjoy. Their customer care, service and safety are second to none. The increased footfall of the huge amounts of visitors to Fantasy Island and the surrounding area, reflects their impressive success and suffice to say elevates not only the stature of The Mellors Group but also that of Lincolnshire.”

Cllr Sid Dennis – Skegness Town Council

Liverpool One Observation Wheel

“The Mellors Group Ltd were commissioned to supply a sixty metre observation wheel to Liverpool ONE, a regional shopping and leisure destination. The location chosen was a particularly sensitive one as it was on the roof of the retail units that also sit above a multi-storey below-ground car park.

  • The planning and consultation took place over twelve months prior to the event taking place and every concern was verified by professionals in that field. Mellors Group were extremely efficient and thorough with the planning process, and as a result we are the first retail destination in the UK and possibly Europe to stage such a magnificent attraction on the roof of a building.

All aspects of the safety liaisons, emergency planning procedures, marketing and operations were undertaken by the Mellors Group.

The scheme has only been open for twenty months at a cost of £1 billion to construct. It is owned by the Grosvenor Liverpool Fund who quite rightly scrutinised the whole procedure. The wheel was deemed a huge success for the scheme and amongst other attractions it helped us increase our footfall by 40% year on year.

I would have no hesitation in recommending the Mellors Group to install attractions in the most sensitive of sites, and I am hopeful that we will be staging the event for Christmas.”

Chris Bliss – Estate Director, Liverpool One

The Starflyer

“The Southbank Centre worked with the Mellors Group to design and install the Southbank Wonderground and the Starflyer, the design work provided for the marketing material for the event was very professional, appropriate for the event and made to a high quality. The Mellors Group team was a pleasure to work with and we would recommend them to anyone who would want to put on an event like this.”

Julia Sawyer – Project Manager, Southbank Centre

Nottingham City Transformations

“Over the years, the Mellors Group has delivered many activities for the city, in particular the Winter Wonderland at Xmas and the Beach in the summer.

The winter offer has been continually improving with substantially better infrastructure year after year, to the extent that, for the 2018 Winter Wonderland, the BID engaged in a joint TV advertising campaign with the Mellors Group, promoting both the Wonderland and the local businesses, resulting in an increase in footfall in the city.

  • We were frankly openly critical of the Nottingham Beach in Old Market Square in 2018, feeling that as a concept it had passed its sell by date, resulting in a very much changed offer for Summer 2019, providing something for everyone.  The Playa Day Club and Restaurant in particular, with its award winning chef Laurence Henry, is something unique for Nottingham, and as other cities look for ways of attracting people, provides a real point of difference.

We find them good to work with as they are always happy to listen to suggestions, invest, and improve, and importantly they understand that the prosperity of the city is key to everyone’s success.”
