Henry Mellors Senior, an established businessman in the timber trade, first ventured into events when he manufactured a wooden coconut shy and swing boat ride.
Our history is our foundation. We are powered and driven by our past and the world inspires us to create a brighter business future.
Over the years, our family have put the building bricks into place guided by historical qualities. In turn, this has empowered our teams, creating who we are today and how we are going to develop in the future.
Timeline
Henry’s son, Henry Junior, added to the portfolio providing Bingo games, stalls and children’s rides, with Henry Junior’s Son, James Henry Mellors, continuing to invest, bringing some of the largest and most sophisticated rides to the UK.

As part of the Royal Wedding celebrations, we were asked to install our giant 60m Observation Wheel in Hyde Park, giving visitors an incredible view across the park. Then in 2012 for the London Olympics, we supplied various attractions to Victoria Park and every official London Olympic venue within the M25. It was our zip line Boris Johnson famously got stuck on!
After tendering against companies from around the world, we were appointed by Global Village Dubai to operate their funfair, with 4.5 million visitors attending over the five years. In year one our revenue growth reached 70%, followed by a consistent growth rate of 15 -20% each concurrent year.
Working with the world-famous Southbank Centre, we delivered a Starflyer, rollercoaster and various attractions to London Wonderground, an event based on the Coney Island Fairground in New York. The Starflyer was selected as a tribute to the famous paratrooper ride at Coney Island and the Skylon monument which once graced the Thames boardwalk.
Located in Ingoldmells, Lincolnshire, Fantasy Island Theme Park was added to our portfolio, undergoing a significant £4.7 million investment, transforming the iconic seaside park with new rides, attractions and improved customer facilities. We continue to invest in Fantasy Island with six new additions across 2021 and 2022.
As well as designing and installing a new Pier Amusement Park, we were also appointed to operate an exclusive water park, north of Jeddah, on a private island. With nine different attractions including slides and giant wave pools, we also installed the largest activity assault course in the world; 50m x 50m in size!
In response to the rise of competitive socialising, we launched Urban Playground, a venue with a difference. Opened in the Manchester Arndale Centre, the venue launched with revolutionary concept THE CUBE, Putters minigolf and THE BUTCHER, an award winning burger restaurant.
