Keeping patients connected with their loved ones during COVID-19.
Mellors Group has purchased 10 brand new iPads to be delivered to Queens Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, it has sadly become necessary for hospitals to suspend or restrict almost all visiting in order to protect the NHS and reduce the transmission of the virus, though, this has caused a great deal of grief for families with seriously ill relatives.
The Mellors are hoping that their donation, enabling virtual visiting, will assist a number of families through these emotional times and help to reduce the challenges of patient’s connecting with their loved ones.
To maintain social distancing and safety, Mellors Group have made direct arrangements with the NUH IT team who will deliver the iPads to both Queens Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital this week.
James Mellors, a director of Mellors Group says, “During these unprecedented times, our family would like to help the community that we have all grown up in as much as we can. It is with deep sadness that we have lost the life of one of our dear friends and a legend in the fairground industry. Phil Heath lost his battle to COVID-19 on Sunday morning and due to his family experiencing symptoms of the virus, they did not get to say their goodbyes. In memory of Phil, we are donating 10 new iPads to our local hospitals to help keep families connected and provide an additional aid of emotional support.
We hope that everyone is staying safe and we look forward to seeing you all happy and healthy in the near future.”
